School Placements

We work in partnership with a wide range of excellent schools across Malton, City of York, Ryedale, North Yorkshire, and East Riding, covering urban, suburban, and rural communities, and including both faith and non-faith settings. While many placements take place in Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust (NPCAT) schools, all trainees will also undertake a contrasting placement in a non-faith community school, ensuring a broad and balanced experience.

Our partner schools are all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted and are carefully selected for their commitment to high-quality teacher development. We have built strong, collaborative relationships with schools across the region, creating a robust and supportive network that is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of outstanding teachers.

Student teachers are allocated to placement schools based on both personal and practical circumstances, drawing from our large pool of schools across the region.  We will initially seek to place trainees in our excellent NPCAT schools, but also work closely with a number of other Trusts and Local Authorities to ensure a wide and varied placement experience for all trainees.

NPCAT, which leads the partnership, consists of 38 schools, including four large Primary School in the centre of York.
